KIT Department of Chemical and Process Engineering

Formal steps

You have registered as a Doctoral student at the beginning of your doctoral period and would now like to successfully complete your procedure? The next step is the submission of the dissertation and the opening of the doctoral procedure, which is concluded with an oral examination.

For doctorates at the KIT Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, the published Promotionsordnung 2017 has to be considered. If the doctorate was started before June 27, 2017, the doctorate is also possible Promotionsordnung 2011 (PDF).

The important procedural steps and instructions are summarized below, but do not replace a thorough reading of the currently valid doctoral regulations.

It is only possible to change the doctoral regulations before the opening of the doctoral procedure. An informal application to the dean's office is sufficient.
